Artists don't copy other people's work. Period.

 

Why? One, because you are attempting to steal the identity and creation of another's soul. Think about that for awhile.

 

Second, when you copy another person's style or actual work, you are denying the World of your own artistry, your own unique way of seeing. Pintrest, Etsy, YouTube et al are all showing you other people's creations, and in many cases their process. And, the worst of the worst is allowing a computer to create art for you. It's called AI. It is a lie. An untruth.

Third, in time, an artist feels that God is working through them. True artists that allow their visions and way of seeing the World to emanate from a deep place within as if it is a calling to create and then share their work.

To draw inspiration from other artists is fine. Let the art of others draw out your inner artist, get the creative juices flowing.

You say," but I have no artistic talent so I must copy someone else."

 

I say " art comes in many different forms and not all carry a paint brush or palette of colors. It may be cooking, sewing, engineering, interior decorating, architecture, singing, gardening....there are so so many art forms."
