The Story:
After living full-time in Beaufort NC for 25 years, I have fallen in love with our town, its barrier islands, wild horses, the endless variety of boats which pass through our waterways, our local shrimp boats, our sea life, our bird life and Cape Lookout National Seashore. All of my paintings reflect my love for these special and unique local treasures.
This painting is inspired by my many trips to Harkers Island. After crossing the drawbridge, the harbor following on the right has her docks lined with traditional wood shrimpers and fishing boats. It's a big point of interest for me and this way of life.
