The Story:
For 15 years I cruised and traveled through the Bahamas exploring the Out Islands. So many wonderful people I met and sights I saw. The Abacos, Marsh Harbour, Elbow Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Guana Cay, Man O' War Cay, The Exumas, Stocking Island, Nassau, Chub Cay and Southward.
This painting of the Hopetwon Sailing Club Life Ring is somewhere from the early 2000. As a sailor, I loved the quaint sign with the Elbow Cay Reef Lighthouse at the hub of the ring, and thus a painting was born. The club was founded in 1964 and promotes sailing and is host to several regattas. It offers a well loved Junior Sailing program along with Summer Camp for the kids.
