The Story:
I Have Lived In Beaufort, North Carolina for 25 years, and Consider The Outer Banks My Home. The Cape Lookout Lighthouse Is My Diamond Lady, And All Who Spend Time Near Her Feel At Peace In Her Presence Whether Anchored Out Or On Her Beaches. For Years I Have Navigated The Backwaters To Be Near Her Whether To Fish, Clam or Just Enjoy The Serenity of Core Sound and The Atlantic Ocean.
This Painting Was Inspired By A Summer's Afternoon Spent At the Cape Many Years Ago With My Visiting Aunt. She Was Enamored With The Beauty of the Lighthouse, The Crystal Clear Waters of Barden's Inlet and The Tranquility She Felt Inside.
The Cape Lookout Lighthouse is the Southernmost Lighthouse of the Outer Banks, Warning Vessels of Her Shoals. She Is Distinctive With Her Black and White Diamonds, Marking East and East...And North and South.
